living in the house of someone I used to be
excavating me
older now
no longer lithe
freer than I’ve ever been
time to throw my fears to the wind
lean in
to be younger than I was then
Still writing a poem a day (some days two) in celebration of poetry month.
Mainly writing prompted poems, but this poem isn’t prompted, simply how
I’m feeling today.
I’ve had a few of those days as well. Feeling good about getting back to the writing. It felt kind of stiff, at first, but that disappeared with the energy of NaPo. I like your poem, leaning in to listen to ones own knowing can be terribly freeing.

Yes, it can. I promise myself to put self-judgement behind me. I am going to be as young as a child with joy and creativity. Thank you for leaving me a comment.

I believe a whole bunch of us over sixty and more can feel the tug and also relief in your words. 🙂

…Sorry the site you are trying to access is closed – I know that is where the Icon goes, but I haven’t figured out how to switch it.
‘Jules Pens Some Gems’ is the only place open now. And I can’t change the http to match – It is what it is. 🙂
